Totinos Business Acumen

Readers, I have to be honest, I am not the healthiest individual. I love fried foods and very rarely clear my plate of vegetables or fruits. Maybe you can relate, or maybe you’re a “health nut.” But regardless of your preference for kale or tacos, I think we can all appreciate a commercial that showcases our nourishment of choice with proper flare and cunning. Working in marketing, I see advertisements as more than just a pop-up or annoyance. It is a connection to the organization reaching out to you, trying to showcase its product. It is a form of business acumen.

Why? Because it takes a thorough understanding of your organization and product(s) to be able to effectively reach out to your target audience. I bring this up, and my love of unhealthy foods, because of the most recent Totinos pizza roll commercial that caught my attention. If you need to see it, watch it HERE. The basic premise is a young couple is watching TV, presumably a series on Netflix, because as the show ends, the young man asks, “One more?” The girl agrees and their furniture all cheer in unison and the microwave comes in and prepares a fresh wave of Totinos Pizza Rolls. Weird? Yes. Effective? Definitely.

I can’t tell you how many nights and weekends have been spent in front of the TV finishing entire series and popping pizza rolls as snacks. I can’t tell you, because it’s a ridiculously high number and embarrassing. Totinos knows their audience. You wouldn’t find a Totinos commercial of hikers climbing mountains or doing extreme sports eating a hot plate of pizza rolls, because that’s not who their product is directed toward. It’s for the every man, average woman, the couch potatoes, the movie streamers.

Now, I don’t mean to suggest that if you live a very active lifestyle you never eat pizza rolls. They’re delicious and for everyone. But as far as marketing and business acumen, Totinos understands who their clientele is and the way to engage their attention and connect with them. They know their business and their products. The proof is in this blog! They caught my attention; they know what I relate to.

How can you obtain this thorough understanding of your clients, your product and your organization? It starts with business acumen training. Engage your employees, expand their knowledge and see the growth that comes with proper, effective training.
